Kitzman Supports Governor’s Designation of Drug Cartels

“I will fully support the governor in legislation that fights the fentanyl and narcotics pandemic that has plagued our communities.”

PATTISON, TX: Wednesday, Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order designating Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations and instructing the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to take immediate action to keep Texans safe amid the growing national fentanyl crisis.

In response to Governor Abbott’s leadership, Kitzman released the following statement:

“National leadership has failed on all fronts against the gun-ready organized crime syndicate that has plagued our southern border. I am thankful that Texas has a Governor willing to do the work while national leadership is failing.’

“This is not Governor Abbott’s job, but he has made it his task to prioritize the safety of Texans. I will fully support the governor in legislation that fights the fentanyl and narcotics pandemic that has plagued our communities.”
